SMW Tennis UTR Challenger Camp

Sports Management Worldwide breaks away from the conventional school holiday camps by prioritising holistic development beyond just physical or mental benefits. Our Tennis UTR Challenger Camps are tailored for campers who are looking to build on their skills and are seeking more development training, improve thier game and confidence with a perfect belnd of skill work, startegy and match play!

Our goal is to help bring out the potential of each player and optimise their tennis training by providing a high level of coaching and intensity.

Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) :

• IMPORTANT: All players MUST join the UTR as part of the camp. To register for a UTR profile, click HERE
• Players MUST enter the SMW UTR Event after registering for the camp. Once registred parents will recieve an email for details.

The UTR is a global rating system with the aim to produce an objective, consistent, and accurate index of players' skill. The system rates all players from a 1.0 to 16.5 point scale, without regard to age, gender, nationality, or locale of a given match. 

One match result is all it takes to receive a projected UTR Rating. After approximately 5 matches, the rating becomes fully reliable. As matches are played and entered into the system, a player's UTR Rating will increase or decrease over time to reflect their current skill level. Defaults and walkovers do not count to the UTR.

All professional ATP and WTA players have a UTR. Most college players, many junior tournament players worldwide, and many adult league / tournament players also have a UTR.

• NOTE: entry fees to register for the UTR event is FREE. If you are not a UTR Power member an 21 MYR will be added to your registration from UTR Sports. For more information about being a Power member and the benefits please click HERE.

The Venue:

Also known as Kelana Jaya Tennis Courts, is located at, Jalan Stadium, SS7/15,  Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, 47301.

There are 8 (hard court) tennis courts, out of which, one (middle court) is covered. The KJ Tennis courts are located in the vicinity of the KJ Stadium, Indoor Hall, Swimming Complex and a lake with a park. and ample car parking facilities available at the tennis courts.

The Centre is also the home base for the Selangor Tennis Association. As the courts are next to the KJ Indoor Hall (Badminton courts), during bad weather, training is moved indoors.

All of the Selangor Tennis tournaments are mostly held at this venue throughout the year.

• Intermediate to Advanced. (Players must be able to serve and play points)

Accommodation:

• Is not included, however we have been able to offer accommodation at the Saujana Hotel and Le Meridien Petaling Jaya.
• If camper/s are staying overnight, a parent/guardian must accompany them at all times after each day of camp concludes.

Registration Pack

• A detailed registration pack will be sent to you once you register your athlete for camp. This pack entails all the details for the camp and the disclosed forms are required to be brought to the first day of camp.
