SMW Witty Mitty Let's Code: 8-Bit Games Camp | 11 - 13 Years

Sports Management Worldwide (SMW) is partnering with Witty Mitty to provide a Let’s Code: 8-Bit Games Camp at Dulwich College (Singapore) for campers aged 11 - 13 year olds.

Code and play classic 8 bit games from the 80s and 90s as we learn how to develop and build game characters as well as the environment! 

Campers will be able to bring back the games that they build as “cartridges” where they can later play it on their web browser at home!

Camp Highlights Include:

• Campers will learn about what makes people (including you) like to play games.
• Campers will learn about various game theories and various types of games available
• Campers will code up to 3 different unique games that are originally created by themselves and campers will be able to bring the games back.
• Introduction to coding
• Each camper will recieve an Under Armour product

Camp Hours:

• 9:00am - 12:00pm Daily

Camp Schedule:

Students need to bring their own laptop, however can request for us to provide one if needed when registering for teh camp online.

DAY 1:

- 9.00am - 9.45am | What is game design and 8 bit gaming?

- 9.45am - 10.30am | Introduction to Pico-8: Spaceship Crash

- 10.30am - 10.45am | Morning Snack/Play time

- 10.45am - 12.00pm | Coding: Spaceship Crash

- 12.00pm - End of Camp

DAY 2:

- 9.00am - 9.45am | Coding: Spaceship Crash

- 9.45am - 10.30am | Building lander 1

- 10.30am - 10.45am | Morning Snack/Play Time

- 10.45am - 12.00pm | Building lander 2: Win/lose conditions

- 12.00pm - End of Camp

DAY 3:

- 9.00am - 9.45am | Building lander 3: sound effects & character design

- 9.45am - 10.30am | Building a top down adventure game 1

- 10.30am - 10.45am | Morning Snack/Play Time

- 10.45am - 12.00pm | Building a top down adventure game 2

- 12.00pm - End of camp

Registration Pack

• A detailed registration pack will be sent to you once you register your child for camp. This pack entails all the details for the camp and the disclosed forms are required to be brought to the first day of camp.
