Harrison Wilton from Sydney NSW, has been selected in the Hills Representative Baseball team that won the NSW State Championship back in April at Frenchs Forest.
The team now head to Mildura for the National Baseball Championships during the week of the 17-21 June and if the team is successful they will take part in the World Baseball Series in the USA at the end of July 2019.
Harrison currently aged 13 years, has participated in series of different sports camps from the age of 8 years such as our SCA Under Armour Mountain Bike Camps, SCA Under Armour Basketball Camps, and SCA Under Armour Swimming Camps.
But it wasn’t until he participated in our SCA Under Armour Baseball Camps hosted by our director and Association Baseball NSW, where he developed the love and passion for baseball particularly, which kick started his baseball career.
“I really enjoyed every SCA sport camp I have previously participated in as they all taught me something valuable which contributed to my skills today which I am able to apply in my Baseball” said Harrison.
“I knew I loved sport, however didn’t know which sport I was going to be good at or look at doing long term”, SCA helped me explore different sporting options by being able to register for different sports camps to trial the sport during a 2 to 3 day camp period over the school holidays to really assist me with the enjoyment of sport and developing the commitment to baseball in the long run” said Harrison
Since then, Harrison has become our camper selected model for our new SCA re-brand which was launched last year in November 2018 which specifically focuses on Harrison’s journey to display the message to each child and parent that they can try any sport with SCA during the school holidays to not only help promote a healthy sporting lifestyle, but assist in helping children identify what their future sport might be if not multiple preferred sports to be involved in.
